Russia Issues Warning Over Potential Western Aggression

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told the United Nations on Saturday that Moscow will respond firmly to any aggression. He said Russia has no plans to attack NATO or European Union countries but warned that violations of its airspace or territory would trigger serious consequences.

Tensions are rising in Eastern Europe after Russian jets entered Estonian airspace and drones were spotted over Poland and Romania. Lavrov rejected claims that Russia intends to expand the war beyond Ukraine, saying President Vladimir Putin wants the conflict confined to Ukrainian territory.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy blamed Russia for recent drone and aircraft incursions in Europe, describing them as attempts to test defenses and weaken international support for Kyiv. Moscow denies involvement in the incidents, including drones near Danish airports, and says it has not violated NATO airspace.

On the ground, Russian forces reported capturing three villages in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk, while Ukraine hit an oil facility in Russia’s Chuvashia region with drones. Overnight attacks in southeastern Ukraine killed one person, injured 12, and damaged Odesa railways. Both sides also blamed each other for a four-day blackout at the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant.
