Breaking News: Helicopter Carrying Iran’s President Makes Crash Landing in Foggy Conditions

On Sunday, May 19th, a helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and other top officials made a crash landing in a fog-shrouded mountainous region in northwest Iran. Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi stated, “Various rescue teams are on their way to the region but because of the poor weather and fogginess it might take time for them to reach the helicopter.” Harsh weather conditions, including heavy rain and fog, have complicated the rescue efforts, with at least 40 teams deployed, including drones and search dogs.

State TV has been continuously broadcasting prayers for Raisi’s safety, and religious gatherings have been held across Iran, including at the holy sites in Qom and Mashhad. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei also urged the public to pray for Raisi and the other officials onboard.
