Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has reiterated his support for Andrew Cuomo as voters begin casting early ballots in the city’s mayoral election. Bloomberg emphasized that Cuomo’s experience and management skills make him the candidate best equipped to tackle the city’s pressing challenges.

Bloomberg emphasized Cuomo’s qualifications for the city’s top job, noting that “Andrew Cuomo has the experience and toughness to stand up for New Yorkers and get things done.” He also highlighted the challenges facing the next mayor, explaining that the role is “the second toughest job in America,” and urged voters to consider Cuomo’s proven record in leadership and management.

Bloomberg, who served three terms as mayor, has also contributed more than $8 million to super PACs supporting Cuomo’s independent bid, making him the largest financial backer of the former governor in the current race. He added $1.5 million to the pro-Cuomo super PAC Fix the City, reflecting a concern among wealthy New Yorkers about the possibility of a Zohran Mamdani victory.

Cuomo expressed his appreciation for Bloomberg’s backing, saying, “Mike Bloomberg has always put results over rhetoric — he understands that leadership is about competence, management, and getting things done, not slogans or ideology.” He also emphasized the stakes of the race, noting, “This election is about the future of New York City: whether we choose experience and proven leadership or take a dangerous gamble on inexperience and extremism.”

With less than a week remaining before Election Day on November 4, Bloomberg’s renewed endorsement underscores the stakes in a race that has drawn national attention and spotlighted the city’s complex political landscape.
