On Thursday, February 20th, President Donald Trump endorsed Representative Byron Donalds for governor of Florida in 2026, signaling strong support for the congressman’s anticipated bid to succeed Governor Ron DeSantis, who is term-limited.

“I know Byron well, have seen him tested at the highest, most difficult levels, and he is a TOTAL WINNER!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “As Governor, Byron would have a BIG Voice and would work closely with me to advance our America First Agenda. Byron Donalds would be a truly Great and Powerful Governor for Florida and, should he decide to run, will have my Complete and Total Endorsement. RUN, BYRON, RUN!”

Donalds has not officially announced his candidacy but has reportedly informed Republican donors and political allies in Florida that he intends to enter the race.
